Well folks. We starting over again...I know. I've neglected this blog in the past month. We were able to go home for three weeks following my last post and have been back in Seattle for almost two weeks now. DAY ZERO is planned for WEDNESDAY JUNE 18. This will be Mary's "new" birthday. Even though this is a longer transplant, we're required to stay 90 days post transplant this time instead of 30, and the risks are higher because of Graft-Verses-Host-Disease and infection caused by the immunosupressive drugs, the conditioning treatment will be nothing like the chemo that wrecked havoc on Mary's body last time. In fact, conditioning this time consists of an impressive cocktail of immunosupressive drugs and one low dose of total body radiation that will be given shortly before Mary receives Jody's cells. I'm excited because they will be fresh cells...Not frozen in DMSO. YAY! I could smell that stuff for weeks last time. Anyways, I think that's all I've got to say for now. Jody's been here for like five days now and will be here for another week. And Bill rode the bike over for the weekend. So, we've got a full house. I think I'll leave you with a picture. If you've been to my other blog you've already seen it, but it's one of my favorites right now.
